Frequently asked questions about how to choose a snowsuit

How to choose a snowsuit for kids?

To choose the perfect snowsuit for your child, you must take into account technical characteristics like: insulation, waterproofness, fabric, coating, durability of the materials as well as adjustability and the capacity to keep up with your growing child. Also, knowing what your child’s main activity while wearing his/her snowsuit will be is truly essential. You must also think of which type of snowsuit would be the best: a one piece or two-piece snowsuit?

How to choose a snowsuit for a baby?

Same as for a child’s snowsuit, a baby’s snowsuit must be warm and waterproof. This is why we recommend that you identify the following features: insulation, waterproofness, materials and coating, durability as well as adjustability and if it is made for a car seat or not.

For the littlest ones, you will either need a bunting bag, or a one piece or two-piece baby snowsuit. They are specially made for car seats so as to make your daily life with a baby easier, as well as keep them safe.

How to recognize a good snowsuit?

Several different aspects can be taken into consideration: insulation (with specific temperature index), materials used and the presence of coatings and protections against humidity.

When should your child wear his/her snowsuit?

Generally speaking, the full snowsuit should be worn when temperatures drop below 0 °C.

How can you adjust Deux par Deux coats?

It is possible to adjust Deux par Deux winter coats with the straps and at the wrists. Snow pants are also adjustable at the ankles, the hem and for some, at the waist (TEKNIK and RECYCL). The hood also has adjustment strips.

When should you purchase a snowsuit?

You can get your hands on the latest collections by July. For promotions, periods like Black Friday or Boxing Day are also a good option. The rest of the year, you can also find a few snowsuits that are in clearance.

When do snowsuits go on sale?

You can find snowsuits on sale by selecting the “discount” filter on the webpage you are interested in. You can also find good prices on the Relove platform, which is dedicated to second hand clothes for children.

How to dress your child for winter?

On top of a coat, snow pants and winter boots, accessories like hats, mittens, neck warmers and humidity repelling socks are all key elements to keep your child warm during the winter. Find the perfect winter clothes and accessories in our snow shop.

Should my kid wear a fleece under their snowsuit?

Deux par Deux snowsuits are specially made to resist to temperatures as low as -30° C. However, we do recommend the use of a thermal underwear under the snowsuit for optimal comfort.

The use of materials like polyester prevents your little one from sweating inside his snowsuit and therefore from getting cold.

Wearing cotton directly over the skin is not recommended in the winter.

Frequently asked questions about sizes

What size snowsuit should I choose for my child?

Our size guide will help you find the right fit and size for your child’s snowsuit online.

Are your snowsuits made big or small?

The shape and length correspond to the size stated in our size guide. It is important to select the right size according to your child’s measurements, in order to ensure perfect insulation. Our snowsuits have the Grow With Me technology on the coat sleeves and the snow pants. This will allow you to keep your snowsuit for an added winter season if your child grows quickly.

What is the difference between
a 36 months and 3 years size?

Extra space for babies who wear a diaper is the main difference between the two.

Should I purchase a size up?

We do not recommend choosing a size larger than the size suggested by our size guide. Your child should feel comfortable moving around and be perfectly warm in his/her snowsuit. Only the right size can guarantee both of these things.

What is the difference between
a 24 months and 2 years size?

A 24-month size is specially made for babies who wear a diaper, contrary to the 2 year size.
